Introduction
Welcome to a tutorial on removing the ‘last name’ from your YouTube channel name. If your channel is currently set up to display your first and last name, it’s possible to remove the last name so it only shows the first part of your name.
There is no way of doing this using the mobile apps for YouTube or Youtube studio, so If you’re on mobile, follow the steps in a web browser!
Steps:
• Open a web browser (not in the app), go to YouTube.com and sign in to your account
• If You’re on mobile: Click on your profile icon at the top right of the screen and then tap on ‘desktop’, this will reload YouTube in desktop mode.
• Tap your profile icon at the top right of the screen & then select the settings button from the drop-down menu.
• In settings, beside your channel name, click on ‘edit on google’.
• You can remove any text from your last name and leave it empty.
• Tap OK up top when you are ready to save it.
Your YouTube name will now been updated and the last name will no longer be showing on your channel.
