Welcome to a tutorial on switching off Samsung Galaxy phones… If you recently upgraded your phone from an older Galaxy, you may be having a hard time actually turning the device off. That’s because where the off button used to be has been replaced by Bixby, the Samsung virtual assistant software.
However, there are still a few different ways of turning off a Samsung Galaxy (S20 FE, S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, Note 20, & Note 20 Ultra) and I’ll run through them below.
Steps To Turn Off A Samsung Galaxy Phone:
The first way to power off your phone, and one of the easiest, is to simply ask Bixby to turn off your phone for you.
Either press the power button to activate Bixby, or say ‘Hi Bixby’ and then say ‘turn off my phone’. When she asks ‘should I turn it off?’ say ‘yes’. Your phone will then switch off without you lifting a finger.
You can also power of your Galaxy by swiping down twice from the top of the screen to open the quick panel, and then tapping the power icon at the top. This opens the power-off menu, and you can tap ‘power off’ or ‘restart’.
If you would like to change the power button to switch off your phone rather than open Bixby then tap ‘side key settings’ at the bottom of the power-off menu. You can also set it here so that a double tap opens Bixby while a long press opens the power menu.
Under ‘press and hold’ tap on ‘power off menu’. From then on when you press and hold on the power button it will open the power menu.
That draws an end to this tutorial! If you have any questions please leave them in the comments section down below!
